Default anyone used 19" Blizzak's for winter driving in the snow?

Are 19's too big? Or should I go 18's?

If using stock wheels go with 19. If buying a second of wheels set go 18. I am running 19 Dunlop 3D on OEM wheels.

Blizzaks still set the std for all other snow tires with the possible exception of Pirelli

Yep. 255/35/19's Bizzaks on BBS rims for winter. Up to Snoqualmie more times than I remember... clear, icy and blizzard. No problems whatsoever.
IMHO we don't get enough of the white stuff in the NW to consider the need for the added sidewall.

Default Yes on stock wheels in Mass. Worked very well for me..no rim damage,

but I did dodge alot of potholes. Tires felt pretty sticky and decent on dry road. In snow, car was like a frikkin snowmobile :-) No regrets, except rim damage in the swapping. Appearantly not a desirable job for the techs :-(

Default Prefer Dunlop Winter Sport 3D

I have used Blizzak's in the past on other vehicles and was very satisfied. I used Dunlop Winter Sport 3D's last winter and I believe they are a better choice for the RS4 as they are more of a "performance oriented" winter tire.

I have a set of essentially new Winter Sport 3D's on 18" Hartmann wheels for sale in the classified if interested.

Default Blizzak LM-22's (now LM-25's) compare favorably with the Dunlop Winter Sport M3's...

...I have the Dunlop's on my STi and had the LM-22's on my S4, both are "performance" oriented winter tires and performed great in PA and MN winters.

Default I had the M3's (previous generation of the 3D's) and preferred them

I had Blizzaks on my B5 S4 and I agree the M3/3D's seem to be a little better fit for the RS4. I think the Blizzaks were a little better in the snow, but for mist winter days where I live, I think the Dunlops are better all around. Of course, this experience is based on different cars and the Blizzaks may have improved since I last owned them.

I prefer the Dunlops M3s also. IMO, best all around snow tire out there. I would get 18s for snow.
