anyway to get around "safety" video disabling with RNS-E headunit?
i installed an Alpine iPod adapter in my car that is supposed to work with the factory display unit. however, i found that once i start going faster than 4 or 5 mph, that the screen has a "safety" feature that disables the video input while in motion.
i got this particular iPod adapter to be able to see the song information while driving. but i guess i missed the fine print about the safety feature.
anyways, has anyone else figured out how to get around this feature? is there anything to be done via software? or hardware? from some basic experimenting, it seems to be based on speed (probably over the CAN bus) and not throttle position or RPMs or whether or not it's in gear.
thanks.
