APR Tune?
Hey Guys,
I just looked at the APR website and noticed that they now offer an ECU tune for the RS4. Does anyone have any first-hand experience with APR and their products? I have heard from many sources that GIAC is the best bet with ECU flashes, but they do not offer anything for the RS4 yet. Thanks.

I think Vijay had it done. He's on quattroworld. http://forums.quattroworld.com/rs4b7/msgs/21126.phtml

Yes, Vijay and a few others have the flash. They all seem to like to "feel" of it but I'm waiting to see some hard evidence of improvements before I jeopardize my warranty.

I just got off the phone with Matt at GIAC and apparently they are currently making a chip for the B7 RS4 (no time frame though). My Audi dealer sells GIAC chips and therefore confirms that they will not void the warranty. I asked GIAC to let me know when they have any more updates and will let everyone know when I hear from them. Thanks for the info on the APR chip BTW. I'm sure they did a great job with it, but it's not worth risking the warranty for me.

This amount of added "strain" to the engine is likely not going to do anything to affect it. I only have one year left on warranty anyway. While it undoubtedly feels better than stock, I have to say that it certainly is not like chipping a turbo car and after a while you do get used to it. Like I said, no mods on this car are cheap and it is worth $600 IMO. Wouldn't pay much more than that however. Would have probably gone up to $800, no more.
