Audi Extended warranty?

Audi Extended warranty?
Dealer offered the platinum 7 year 100K Audi extended warranty for $2549. With such a potentially expensive car to fix, and the fact the warranty is assumable to a future buyer of the car it seems like a good idea to me.
Does anyone have any experience with the Audi warranty? Is $2549 a good price for it for the RS4?

Yes, have Audi's Pure Protection plan it on my RS6 and had it on the Allroad
and they have a platinum plus which is better than the platinum. Also give them to give it to you at dealer cost or 50-100 above. Also as the car gets older and more milage it costs more to get same coverage.
Also if you trade the car in or sell it without the extended warranty you can get a rebate on unused portion of the plan.

I'd wait until the factory warranty is almost up.
the price will probably go down, and who knows, you may not want to keep the car for 7 years. you never get your money back if you sell the car sooner, even if it is transferable.
it never made sense to me to buy an extended warranty at the time of a new vehicle purchase...why pay for the first 4yrs/50K, you're already getting it for free!?!

it didn't cost me more with more mileage.
when I bought my A6, they wanted $2000. I waited until the 3yr/50k factory warranty was 1 month away from expiration, and got the same extended warranty for $1600.

You did not get the Audi Pure Protection plan as it was not offered at that time
so go to the dealer and ask, you will find out the longer you wait the more it costs with the Audi Pure Protection plan

Bob, I am being quoted $2549 for the platinum plus for the RS4 from my dealer, if you get a...
can you see what your Houston dealer would sell it for with that in mind?

no, it was some other company the dealer recommended...and it was less expensive.
Mastertech? IIRC. It cost me $1600 and covered about $3500 in repairs, so I can't complain.
