B7S4 Milltek+Stasis+ Alcon brakes VS RS4.
the RS4 lan ds in two weeks. Was thinking about the above mods to my current S4 vs the RS4. Would save me a lot o fdough as i am about to take a bath on the B7 trade in....Also, my B7 has run without a single problem, and is running stronger now than ever at 20k miles. can anyone talk me out of the RS4??

you'll take a bath on the money you spend on those mods too.
regardless of any performance benefit, you're basically throwing that money away when it comes time to sell. even if you install everything yourself, and uninstall everything and try to sell the mods used, you'd be lucky to get half of what you spent for them.
having said that, an exhaust isn't going to make the S4 motor anything like the RS4 motor...their characteristics are *completely* different.

If you ordered the RS4 you must not be that happy with your S4.
Those mods will only be noticed at full potential at the track. I enjoy the RS4 every time I drive it. I enjoyed both of my S4's also, but the RS4 is a very different car. The one thing that is probably true about all performance sedans is that you and all of us will take a bath at resale or trade-in time. No one can say if having a factory warranty on a stock car will decrease the size of the bath.

just wondering if I'll be that much happier....
The S4 has been great, but from what I hear on this forum about the RS4....also drove one about a month ago... However, recently drove a p-car too....was thinking about keeping the S4, with a few mods, then grabbing a rear mount.....

^^^Agreed. I had all those mods plus more. She was great but still not the same as my RS4...
Not to say the RS4 can't/won't be much improved with these same mods. What I miss the most is the rear diff. It wasn't that there was more power with the diff, but it felt like it got more of the power to the ground.
Anyway, roughly the same amount invested in an S4 AVANT as a new RS4, the two cars just don't compare. She was a bad *** S4 but still the RS4 is way more than the some of its parts.

Most of the cars you mentioned will cost $700-1000 a month to drive in the long run.
Find what makes you happy and get it. We can only tell you what makes us happy or unhappy. I love the RS4 but a fair number of the B5'ers dont seem to like it. I guess it depends on whether you are happy to begin with, if not I doubt any car will change that for a significant period of time.

that fair number of B5'ers are drunk on horsepower.
not that anything's wrong with that....once I have the space (and time) for a project car, it will be either a B5 S4 or a UrQ.
