Well if the RS5 does come out, does that mean the B8 RS4 won't be far behind?...
I know in the past Audi waits to release the RS until the end of a production run, but if the RS5 really does get released next year to compete with the new M3, maybe that means the new RS4 will be out right away to compete with the 4 door M3?

I think it will depend a lot on the sales of the A4/S4
First if demand is too great - there will not be a reason to sacrifice the product line to build the RS.
On the opposite side if sales volume is too low - it may not make much sense to spend more money on a lack luster product.
I suspect they will wait a year at least for the RS.

No. Typically Audi does the specials (RS4, RS6) near the end of the design life of the platforms.
