Default B8 S4 Rims

Hey guys,

I have a set of B8 S4 OEMs (19x8.5 ET43) and I want to use them as my winter set, and I know the B7 RS4 OEMS (19x9 ET29). My question is, can I mount them and use them for the winter without any problems, or am I going to need something for it to work properly for me.

Thank you!

If I've got my numbers correct, those wheels will sit 20mm further inwards. You would need at least 20mm spacers to make these wheels clear your front brakes.

karsty, thanks for the prompt reply, are spacers readily available to purchase? So if there aren't any spacers, I simply cannot just mount them on? I read spacers are usually for aesthetics, so the wheels fill the wide track of cars and such, but is this for mechanical function and safety as well?

The hubs are also bigger for the B8 wheels. You might need an adapter too for them.

People use spacers for esthetics and for clearance issues.

Do I need two separate items? Or does the wheel adapter act as a spacer as well?

You'll need spacers and hubcentric adapter rings. The rings are optional, but definitely make mounting easier. They come in plastic or aluminum, you'll want 67 exterior diameter to 57.1 mm interior diameter.
You'll need bolts, too. Stock length is 27mm, so you'll need at least 47mm bolts with those spacers. Too long (by <10mm) is better than too short.

ECS sells all of this stuff, I have a set of new plastic rings and zinc plated 50mm cone seat bolts that I was going to return but could sell if they'll work for you.

Why go with all that trouble of spacers and hub adapters. Just get a set of Hartmann reps with the proper hub bore and proper offset.

Maybe because he already has a set of wheels and buying spacers/rings would save him $1k?

BTW you would need rings that go from 66.56 to 57.1 and they are not optional. You MUST have them in order to have no vibration.

This is a wheel hub adapter sizing?
