Battery life expectancy
Anyone replace the OEM battery yet?
Wondering what the life expectancy of a 13000 mile NOT daily driven car should be.

Battery Minder
I am in a similar situation. My RS4 is a "toy" car and doesn't get driven much. Prior to this, I had an 01 E39 M5 that was only driven ~ 25,000 miles in 6 years. I have never replaced a battery and have have very good experience over the years using a Battery Minder when the car is not driven for extended periods. It keeps the battery in a fully charged condition, and offsets the continuous drain that modern cars experience with all the electronic "stuff" that is continuously running in the background.
It is a small device about the size of a couple decks of cards that just plugs into an electrical outlet and then connects to the battery terminals. I can't remember where I bought it, but just google "Battery Minder" and the manufacturers site should pop up - you can read all about how it works. If I remember correctly, it is made by a company called VDC electronics.

I disconnected the battery from the car, recharged with a 3 amp supply for 12 hours.
This brought the battery up to start the car fine. However, leave the battery connected to the car, and it will drain approximately .8 volts per day.
Go through the routine of disconnecting the battery, and it manages to hold 12.3 volts over 3 days. Recharge overnight, reconnect and the radio starts playing instantly. Can't turn the radio off with the power button!
Cycle the ignition switch and the radio turns off. Looking like the garage gremlins have moved in

I'm on my third now on my S4 daily driver. Texas heat and the approximately twice monthly enthusiastic drive sucks the life out of 'em. The V8 in that engine bay is an oven.
One I caught with warning signs, the other just failed in my garage. ugh.
Eric.
