Default Best compliment to date. . .

coming home from the gym today rumblin' in 2nd gear/downhill at 30 mph or so and passed an old guy walking on the street (he had to be at least 90 or so). Old hat, flannel shirt, etc. He looked at me and gave me a big shaking thumbs-up and a big smile. I felt like jumpin' out of the car and huggin' him.

Must have been a BMW guy in his day, ;^).

Default Back in his day, BMWs were not thought of as being that great.

He probaly drove a Cadillac or a muscle car.

My brother-in-law bought a 1980 320S, new. That was a nice car, and performance oriented. I used to do basic maintenance on it for him. After that they degenerated somewhat in the 80's to tame commuters(318i's)...the stateside models anyway.
