Best Wireless Radar Detectors
I bought a $50 plug in one and was interested in folks advice on getting a better one that uses a battery that I can hide better. Are there ways to not mount it on the windshield?

Go with V1 and the LI-S4 concealed display....
It still has to be mounted on the windshield, but it can be placed really high so that you don't even see it.

This is where is was on my B6 S4 when I didn't have the concealed display. But know that I do it's on the passenger side.
Click on the V1 link in my sig to see the concealed display and click below to check out LI-S4's work.

LI-S4's V1 Concealed Display

the escort solo s2 is the only fully cordless model i'm aware of.
i have one...no tickets since i bought it 4 years ago. it runs on 2 AA batteries, which typically last 1-2 months of regular driving. mine is attached to the windshield, but i suppose you could attach it to either of the sun visors. the design obviously makes it very simple to swap between multiple vehicles.

The shop who did my clear bra does that for anyone that wants it...
It's great, now all I need is black 3M Dual Lock with black glue.
I ordered a bunch of these off ebay so that you couldn't see the EZ-Pass from outside of the car, but they have the same glue as the clear ones :-(
Now I'm just going to use strong double sided tape that is black :-)

I have Front and back CALIBRE Radar & Laser Protection with Bluetooth. Dealer did have to......
run some wires but I don't know how many or where. It is an amazing system even though most of the guys on the board dislike it. It has saved me far more time than I like to mention. It has also jammed a Laser twice. I have zero tickets with it.
A $50 one is better than nothing. I used one when I went to Deals Gap and never had a problem. I do think that as with anything in life you may find you get more protection with a higher priced unit. Mine cost BIG cheese and I would only recommend that if you always push the limits. Having it concealed is a big plus as I believe they will make a decision to write you a ticket if they see you have a detector.
Good Luck
