Big Spacers

Big Spacers
I am thinking of getting the BBS RS-GT wheels, but want to go 10 out compared to stock (which seems to be fairly standard on this forum). Since the stock offset is +29 and the offset on the BBS is 32 (rear) and 38 (front), I am going to need spacers of 13 and 19 mm. Are there any drawbacks to wearing spacers that big?? Maybe Fluffhead was smarter, getting the Superleggeras.

I ran 30mm front, 25mm rear spacers on my old TT...no prob for regular street use.
I switched back to the stock wheels for auto-x though. I don't think I'd be comfortable doing any serious track or auto-x time with more than a 10mm spacer....no scientific reason for that, just a gut feeling.
here's my old TT, BTW...had to run 30mm spacers up front to fit the wheels over the brakes.

Why not go with the BBS RS-GT 9.5" 32 offset, with a 5mm spacer?
That will take you out 8 mm, and only take away 4 mm of space on the inside. MTM BiMotos and the SDS wheels are both designed at 9.5" wide. This will also allow you to use a 265/35 tire, which is what allows MTM to put Pilot Sport Cups on their supercharged car.
MTM is also providing an option with mounted tires that use a 275/35. If you put a 255 on a 9.5" rim you'll get a softer ride. Conversely, if you put a 275 on you can get a bit harsher ride, with stiffer sidewalls.
