Default Black optik....

Finally, after two weeks and driving around a white dodge magnum, my car is back. I have to say that I'm extremely satisfied with the work. Here are some photos.

Default yes...

I searched on google and the only thing that seemed promising was "caterpiller muffler paint". Yes caterpiller as in construction machinery. You can purchase the aerosal sprays at your local caterpiller dealer. The body shop I went to scuffed out the polish and used a special primer and then sprayed several coats of it. It is pretty cool looking in person. I guess I'll have to wait and see how they stand the test of time. I was going to have the body shop take the mufflers off and then I was going to ship them out to be powder coated, however, the painting was a much more affordable option. They were painted directly on the car with the bumper off. Another option was to order the black optik muffler however, this is $1700 shipped and I thought that was steep. I think later on if I decide to get the millteks I will have them powder coated semi-gloss black prior to installing them.

The black optik on phantom pearl I know is not everybodies cup of tea, but the subtle differences of the pearl paint and flat paint are difficult to appreciate in pictures. This is a similar theme
