...it will probably make you either laugh or yell.
Craig Lieberman's RS4 is featured with a full suspension write-up of the KW solution. The basis of the upgrade and the conclusions are frankly amazing.
I will paraphrase the ending by citing the failure rate of the DRC system and high cost of replacement as justification of a 3200 dollar replacement with KW.
While I went with the "other guys" that make 3200 seem cheap, none of the stated reasons in this article are correct. In addition using a G-Meter for testing is suspect....at best.
How many of you have suffered DRC failure?

I don't read it anyway...never heard of it....but consider this....
Craig is a marketing guy. As you may recall he had been working for Magnaflow and spoke very highly about their RS4 exhaust. After he left, he admitted to getting the Miltek for his car. So just because he likes KW today...
I haven't seen a single post reporting a DRC failure in the RS4...not one.

High cost of replacement shouldn't apply as it is warranty, correct?

Not so fast....
FYI:
I STILL speak highly of the MagnaFlow exhaust and if you do some research, you'll see that my sole beef with their RS4 system was their tips.
When I left MagnaFlow, I switched to Milltek largely because of the oval tips...and I couldn't be happier with it. It is still on my car today.
The DRC failures on Audis are well documented on this board and other Audi forums globally. While it may not be a high number of failures, given the low production numbers of the RS4, it's a high rate.
I stand by my research and assertions.
If your DRC fails under warranty, who cares. But once it fails outside of warranty, it's an entirely different issue.
As for the $3K price...that's retail. The street price is significantly lower.
There are a variety of reasons for switching to coil-overs, as many of you know. The lowered ride height, adjustment capabilities, and the ability to corner weight your vehicle.
For those of you not well versed in the benefits of such a setup, may I suggest you drive an RS4 with coilovers and a proper alignment. It's night and day.
