Default Bose amp location?

Anyone knows where the bose amp is located in the RS4? I am tempted to add an eq processor before the bose amp to tweak the sound a little bit. Thanks.

Default In your trunk, behind the panel on the passenger side.

Still the same since U.S./MY 2003. See pic supplied by Bose...

lol. Nope, it's still there. I saw it when we had my entire car torn apart for my install.

Thanks for all your help. It is much smaller in size than I thought. Hey brianja, we have the same car with the same options. I just got the car and will be adding a surround eq to it. I will pretty much leave it stock otherwise.

Default Then you have excellent taste in colors / options :-p

Good luck with the processor only project. Do you know what you are going to use? I have an Audiocontrol digital EQ which is nice (after the defective first unit was replaced).

I don't think I have seen someone ever put more processing on top of a Bose system's. Then again, I'm not as into this as others on here, I am sure.

Let us know how you do.

Default I'm not sure how that's going to work.

Or if it will work at all. The Bose amp has it's own processing agenda and I would suspect it would simply do it's thing, expecially since the new processor is before the old Bose. I would rip out the old amp and put in a new one along with the new processor.

That's what I was thinking. Bose is already over-processed. Thought it odd to add more.

Your digital eq is I suspect a parametric eq with different curve settings, I assume. I am just planning to add a very old school yamaha surround sound eq that is only analog eq but the surround sound is pretty amazing and the eq is quite good too. After I had the yamaha eq, I tried others like pioneer, clarion and alpine. Only the pioneer comes close to the yamaha but still not quite as good. I think the Bose is quite good but not very flexible in eq adjustment. A tiny bit of surround processing like room size and reverb adjust should do wonders. I am just going to use the front line output from the rsn-e as my eq will put out front and rear which will go back to the bose amp. Hopefully, that will do nothing to the navigation and bluetooth as I am using the front line output only. Have to find time to test it out first before I mount the controller in the armrest.
