Default Brake cooling kit, final segment (finally). Off to the track for some testing!...

Last time we were gluing the parts together. Unfortunately it did not work out the way we had hoped for. One of the NACA ducts did not bond properly. I must take the blame for it. I think the prep work was not up to par.

Regardless we managed to fix it and designed and built a nice addition to ensure even more air flow into the NACA ducts and hopefully to the rotors. I have three track days coming this weekend and hopefully the rotor temperatures will be lower.

I'd like to thank Luc at Symo-Sport for making the aluminium parts for the kit and installing the whole package.

After the bonding took place we secured the whole assembly even more by using small screws with washers and nuts. The screws were cut down to size prior to final installation. It is not obvious in this shoot why but you will soon understand.

Here we go the underside facing the airflow. We added these aluminium "air flow fences" to funnel even more air into the NACA ducts. My only worry at this point is that I think they are too big and protrude too much and will hit the ground on bumpy or uneven roads. We may have to reduce their height by shaving them down.

Now the installation and routing of the flexible ducts from the rotor adapter downwards and along the aluminium suspension arm.

The flexible duct being attached to the NACA duct. You can see the whole assembly goes by the H-Sport sway bar and over the plastic part that is used to secure the undertray to the car.

Next step was to close or reinstall the plastic wheel well inner liner. This too needed to be cut so that the 3" flexible duct could make it to the NACA duct.

Low shot of the front end of my car. You can see (if you look carefully) the two NACA ducts with their "air flow fences".

Close up of the front end. I think the air flow into and through the ducts to the rotors should be substantial (at least that's what I'm hoping for).

Default Nothing for now. I'm off to the track for three days this coming weekend and I'll use the ...

Time to check it out. I may have to add some kind of screen perhaps to keep foreign objects from entering the ducts.
