Break-in period?

Break-in period?
So what did y'all do for break-in? Dealer recommended 1500 miles or so.
Also, did you notice the performance of the car change much during the period? At brand spanking new, with only 70 miles on the odombeter, the car felt kinda...slow. At least, compared to the demo I test drove (which had a couple-few hundred miles on it already). It felt closer to S4 than RS4. Clutch was also very jittery...
Am I imagining things?

The RS4's ECU will incrementally increase the power it gives you up to 5K mi. I keep the rpm's.....
under 5K until past 3K mi. It worked very well and just so you know the car becomes an animal after it opens up.

3K miles? Oh crap i don't think I ever kept a car that long. I noticed my book states 6k max till 600 then 7k till 1200 then can gradually go to 8,250 till 1,500. Then it's ***** to the walls

"The RS4's ECU will incrementally increase the power it gives you up to 5K mi." - really?
The ECU... not the engine loosening up? What are the increments? Is this documented somewhere?

We have all of this somewhere on the board but it has been a long time....
and I don't remember all the details. South east regional service rep verified that the engines ECU will do this to help control the break-in. I seem to remember that you only got 100% after 5K but that could be + or -. I do remember feeling the difference, in a big way.
I never said that it was not the engine loosening up. That makes a difference also.
