Buying a used RS4....
So I plan on buying a used RS4 within the next month or so as there are some amazing deals to be had on the used market.
That being said, I've noticed a number of posts recently regarding the carbon build up on the valves and Im wondering if I should specifically ask dealerships (if I buy one from a dealer) to check that before I purchase? It also seems that some folks suffer more than others...any reasoning for this? Are there any preventative steps that can be taken to lessen the build up?
Im also looking at longer term reliability due to the build up. Would the extended warranty / CPO coverage protect from any damage the build might cause?
Is there anything else I should consider when looking at a used RS4? Anything in particular to watch out for that I can visually spot or test for?
Thanks all for any information you can provide. Im very much looking forward to owning a small piece of audi prestige

Just do your research and try to get as much info as possible before you buy it...
the carbon build up is from the direct injection, and I don't there is much you can do about it. But def have the dealer take a look or have the car inspected at a independent shop you trust, thats what I do. If the dealer won't let you, then move on to the next car.
With Audi, I find its more hit and miss with reliability then with BMW IMO.
Good luck.
