Default Calling RI_RS4 (again)!

Thank you for all of your help, last week.

Considering getting the Ferodo 2500s.

Can you please tell me if the Ferodos squeak/screech a lot under normal use or aggressive driving on the street?

How hard are they on the rotors?

Thanks!

The Ferodo's need to be bedded in and re-bedded occasionally to keep them from squealing under light stops. But, once this is done, they are fantastic. When the rotors are cold, just drag the brakes a bit to wipe off any material on the rotors, then take the car out and then brake from 70 to 30 under full braking force about 5 times. This is usually enough to bed the pads nicely. After that, if you get a squeal (which is just occasionally) do a few more good high speed brakes, and that will usually take care of it.

As for wear, I've not measured the rotors myself, but given that some people with stock pads have ruined their rotors after 15K-20K miles and I have 36K miles on mine (16K with the Ferodo's, including 6 days on the track), I'd say they're doing well. Quite frankly, the winter, with all the sand and salt we have around here, was much worse on the rotors than the pads are. I'll probably change out the pads and rotors this coming spring.
