thx...got mixed signals on #1 from the dealer...they used to be able to
do it on the old A8's, but apparently their (legal?) ability to interdict relates to whether the Fed considers the system to be "active" or "passive".
As a former bike racer, etc., I have always attended to TP, and see no need to incur extra expense on the winter set.
The airbag light is not a real bother, but I may do something McGyver-ish if it becomes so during night driving.
