The car connection speeding excuses contest
My future entry:
"Officer it is clear that the effect of my asbestos underpants rubbing against their outer tinfoil sheath has created an electromatic anomaly that has rendered my speedometer inoperative. I call it the Asbestos Triangle effect. Oh and by the way, as you can see from my licence I am British and related to Sir Stirling Moss so giz us a break mate"
not sure it will work here in South Carolina, but worth a try.

I was pulled over once, many years ago, going 90something in my 993...
The officer asked me where I was going in such a hurry. I told him that he really didn't want to know. He said it was ok, he did want to know...
I told him the truth. That I was late for a speeding ticket court appearance/hearing in Bedford. He suggested that I tell the judge why I was late, if it came up.
