Carbon fiber accessories for under the hood, RS4
Any interest in getting carbon fiber pieces for the right side engine cover as part of a group buy?
I found a shop that does custom carbon work, superb aerospace quality.
We can get the right side engine cover done (coolant reservoir area) along with the battery/windshield area pieces done.
Also, we can have the black riser piece on the driver's door area done (the b-pillar) and that little traingular piece at the back door window.
It'd have to be a group buy, so I need to gauge interest.
The engine coolant cover piece will come in at around $450, don't know about the other pieces. The UV coating is they'd use is very heat resistant and will never yellow.
Let me know if you're interested by emailing me at moviecarz@***.net

Oh my God! My fuh-lend from Bombay!
How are you buddy?
Haven't forgotten you....MagnaFlow STILL has not released their RS4 system, if you can believe that.
Later 1Q at the earliest, but last I heard, according to the owner's son, Nick, they were considering a tip revision.
Anyway, I've ended my deal with them and am now free lancing, so I'll have to put you in touch with someone else over there, so email me at moviecarz@***.net for info on that contact.

Two options
One: we can have the pieces covered in carbon fiber overlays...a lot cheaper, but not OEM style and nowhere near the same quality.
Two: Make a mold, make 100% carbon fiber parts. Only the snap tabs would be carried over from plastic pieces.
The problem is that Airbus and Boeing bought the world's supply of carbon fiber for the next 12-18 months, so even getting the material is very expensive which means the parts will be expensive.
This won't be for the weak of heart, so we'll have to make sure we have as many locked, pre-paid orders /deposits as possible to bring the price point down.
