caught the the milltek / magnaflow bug... but...
Being surrounded by Milltek and Magnaflow on the NYC photo shoot and drive gave me the bug. What do you do with the stock exhaust? Keep it around and put it back if you ever sell the car? Sell it? Can't imagine there is a very big market for it considering there are only like 3000 RS4s in the entire USA. From what I've read the entire exhaust is one giant piece of metal... and one needs to rent a uhaul or a van to move it around. Do any of your NYers with the milltek or magnaflow have any issues with the safety inspection? I guess you guys haven't had to have your cars run for emissions check yet because they are new... but if you do the downpipes, cats, and the cat-back... I wonder if this will cause problems.

Re: Have the shop cut the stock system down into more manageable sizes
i'm led to believe theres markings on the exhaust between the centre resonator and the rear boxes. Its so that the boxes can be replaced seperately rather than the whole system. There should be an indentation on the outside of the pipes to show this. Audi even sell a joining kit for repair this way, similair to the 2 clamps at the front of the system where theres already a join.

Do not waste money on downpipes/cats. They do absolutely nothing on this car.....
except alter the sound slightly. Not worth $2100 + install costs.
I have milltek valved and resonated cat-back and couldn't be happier. If you are willing to spend the money on cat-back and downpipes, instead, just go for the MTM cat-back.
