Default CEL this morning

Started this morning and had a flashing CEL and very rough idle. Turned the car off and waited a bit. Restarted and CEL was solid with strong exhaust smell-not really like burning oil. Looks like I will need to take her in but haven't restarted yet. Hopefully be able to drive it in. Any recent TSB you guys know about?

Go drive it. If the light stays off, don't worry about it.

Yep-that's it. It happened once before a long time ago, but cleared after a bit. They did find the misfire event when it had a service.

It's running a little better now but still rough and the CEL isn't going away. Looks like it won't get looked at until Monday.

Default Has happened to me twice..

After the car had been off for a while. Rough idle, but then it kinda clears out. CEL stays on. It shows up as a misfire. SA says it starting to sound like a issue they had with the 4.2L Q7's. In that case its actually the injectors that bleed some fuel into the combustion chamber when the car is just sitting. So when its time for a cold start, there's too much fuel and there is no ignition in that cylinder. The curious thing, whether its a coil or an injector, is why it tends only to happen on cold start up. You'd think if either of them had a serious issue, it would affect the performance all the time. My SA says if it happens one more time, he'll address it to Audi as a possible injector problem.

I've never had one in the Audi and as soon as I jump on this post then head to the gym, lookie what I have now. btw - no misfire, fuel smell, nothing. And my gas cap is on tight, so it's not that.

Default Haha, damn bad luck....

I think I know what is wrong though, isn't 93.1 country station? Change the radio to rock and your CEL will go away.

Default I had the same issue. Had 2 coil packs and 2 spark plugs changed out.

Seems to have fixed it for now.
