Default chipped 335i's are really fast

Had a blast today meeting up with some car nuts and doing a quick boot down the highway. A bunch of AMG's, porsches, an LP560, GTR, and a couple of BMW's (My RS4 was the only Audi there)

I have to say though that besides the Gallardo and the GTR, the Vishnu chipped 335i had some serious *****! I really enjoyed the sound of the AMG's and the Gallardo. But everyone mentioned how much they loved the RS4 exhaust note (stock exhaust too)

Nothing crazy though, we kept it all under 280 km/h :-)

Default A few pulls, and the chipped 335 def. walks away on the top end

it was all top end and so the 335 was in its element. I believe he had the thing running 15-16 lbs. of boost. It just steadily walked away from me every time.

The few times I saw him running with a new C63, I would say they were about even.

And from what I understand, the 135 is 200lbs lighter.

My favorite stealth BMW for that reason. Too common to want one though, and the interior... skip

Default Agreed. But it all reinforced why I love my audi so much...

My car was definitely no slouch against any of the other cars (with chips, tuning, exhaust, etc.) It was pretty much neck and neck until silly speeds even with the AMG's (okay, a few car lengths behind, but really who cares)

But you know what it is about the RS4? It exudes technical masterpiece. Engineering victory. Utility, poise, understated ferocity.

It's like having a massive unit (like we all do since we drive a 4 door family car). You don't really have to show it to everyone all the time, but rest assured when it's show time, your good to go. It's just magnificent.

Default Quattro will always be at a disadvantage at high speeds.......

That's just the trade-off for low speed domination. I am in total agreement about what an incredibly engineered total package the RS4 is.

Also, on the 335 motor, there are definitely heat management issues. The reliability of that engine in a modded state is marginal at best.

Default It is a disadvantage mostly in the mid range speeds where...

...traction is no longer a problem, but you're still going slow enough that the car accelerates hard.

At high speeds, where you're accelerating pretty slowly, it doesn't help or hurt.

Agreed. That's what I meant, just didn't say it quite right :-)
