Default Cleaning the aluminum trim question...

I washed the car for the first time last week and I noticed that the aluminum trim on the top of the grill and lift gate of the trunk seems to stain pretty easily. Basically any flat surface. What do you use to clean it?

Haven't tried yet, but what about Mother's Metal polish for all metal surfaces?

hmmmm... i bought a green chemical made by Z1 from germany. They sell them at superautobacs and it works really well on that alum trim!

Default SteveLRS4, Does the trim look like it has a protective coating or

is it bare?
What did the stain look like and can you post a closeup picture? What were you cleaning your car with and did the stain appear before or after you cleaned the car?
What is your favorite color?
What is the airspeed velocity of a unladen swallow?
Darn, now I've lost my train of thought.
What were we talking about?

No, really I work for a cleaning chemical manufacturer and may be able to give you a better answer with some of this information.

Default I failed to mention that you may also want to have the correct TRIM at hand for washing.

Warning off topic video!
I hope it's a REPOST!<ul><li><a href="http://www.metacafe.com/watch/97733/wwe_divas/">http://www.metacafe.com/watch/97733/wwe_divas/</a</li></ul>

If it's clear coated, don't use metal polish. Treat it like paint.

Default Peek Polish

Works really well. I used it on my S8 and with a little bit of time and effort, all the oxidation comes off.
