Agree, but it might be a better solution then opening the housings....
plus if you can't get a hold of the amber piece then you can always open the housings (you will basically have no other choice).
Just saying if someone is desperate to do this trying the old method before putting these things in an oven might be better.
The TT guys do this all the time so the heating up can't be as bad as we are all making it out to be. But I would use a heat gun and skip the oven.

It's larger than the amber cap...
But it all depends on how the projector comes out. If its anything like the A8 W12 headlights I hacked up a few weeks ago for the LED's, then the only way to remove the projector is to destroy the housing, which obviously defeats the purpose.

I had never done it before and did it with a friend who had also never done it.
pretty simple once you get the front bumper off. Totally worth the effort.
It seals up so well also. Let me know if you want some additional tips when you go to try it.

On one of mine the amber piece would not come off, and i hit the **** out of it. It is
on there so well. I actually dremeled out a large chunk of it and it still wouldn't pull off. Don't think the drilling process would work too well. So much easier to just open the headlight. if you seal it back up, then bake it again for 5-10minutes the seals will be VERY solid.
