To clearbra or not?

To clearbra or not?
Hopefully picking up my car tomorrow (fingers crossed) and wondering if people think clearbra is worth it.
Also, what do people think about the wheels and tire package?
Thanks.

Yes, clearbra it. And not just the hood too.
Do the front of the wheel flares (front and back), just behind the wheels where the tires kick up **** and the rocker panels for morons thinking they are sidesteps.
Don't know about the wheels and tire package.

I think it's a must, but understand that -
the lighter the color of your car, the more dirt will show up around the edges of the urethane film. With Ibis, i've found that the film applied to my door sills has darkened slightly relative to the paint. A clay bar and detailing spray is supposed to get rid of the dark spots...but it's alot of work. I didn't have clear bra applied to my B6 S4, and after 3 yrs. the road rash had begun to show. With the front end of the RS4, I think you'll regret not doing it. A standard full protection package should cost you around $800, give or take...

Mehhh...I'm kinda so so on the whole idea of it
Maybe its because I've never seen it done well on a car, but from the examples I've seen, the edges always seem very visible....also, (this could be inaccurate) the paint never seems to glisten the way it does w/o the bra. Just my 2 cents.

a must if you drive on busy highways often or if you track the car
the aluminum hood and wide-body fenders are just asking to get smacked by rocks or tire chunks and other debris flying off another car or semi.

Depends on the color, your tolerance for "the line", and your driving environment & habits
Ah the answer is not so simple! Things to consider:
Clearbra if:
- Drive in heavy traffic where if you don't tailgate, you'll lose your place in traffic
- Light-colored car (line shows up less)
- Track the car
- Don't mind a less-than perfect appearance
- Don't mind people asking you "what's that line"
- Live in the rust belt, drive in the winter, and lots of sand/gravel is used
Don't Clearbra if:
- You're the type that washes the car several times per week and just can't tolerate the less-than concourse look of the visually broken appearance (the dreaded "line" and different gloss/reflection characteristics)
- You have a darker-colored car (line shows up more)
- Don't mind respraying the front once in a while
- Your driving environment is on good roads, light traffic
I had it on my M5 and removed it after about two years due to all the above.

I have Phantom Black and had dealer arrange to have protective film installed. They used Autobond,
which is very poor quality material. Orange peel surface and quite noticeable line. Oh yes, when I took it back for a better installation, the installer put a few scratches in the hood. I used Venture Shield on my Stratus Gray BMW 650 conv. last June and the line and film is barely noticeable. Get protective film, but avoid Autobond. BTW, both installations cost the same and the Venture Shield kit had more protective pieces than the other one.
