I am strongly considering picking up one of 2 RS4s. Both are 2007, one has 18k miles and the other 40k miles. Prefer options, colors and upgrades on the higher mileage car. What is your experience with the car as the miles add up? Does it begin to loosen up, rattle, eat oil, etc.?

Anything in particular I should look for or be wary of? Any major repairs or issues that are known to arise on higher mileage cars?

I picked mine up with 64,000 kms (40,000 miles) and the only unwanted sound it has is the occassional squeek from the arm rest. Carbon cleaning and DRC's seem to be the "known issues" but I havent yet heard of anything arising from high mileage. Within a couple of months of ownership I ended up needing a carbon cleaning covered under warranty and its safe to assume that whichever you choose will benefit from this.

I picked mine up w/ 45k miles (it is a 2007). It is rock solid and I am very happy with it's performance. Have not had CBU checked but I probably have it (like the rest). I have seen folks on AZ and QuattroWorld have 70k plus miles. The expensive items are the brakes and clutch.
