Cold weather problems...anyone experiencing this??
well...on the east coast its been dropping into the 40's and i noticed some issues with the car.
firstly, i have a very annoying buzz coming from the power steering that i got fixed at 1500 miles (just needed more fluid)..now its back with a vengence at 2200 and its not stopping even when the car warms up.
also...when the car is cold, shifting out of gears is very sticky and shifting into gears is very rough (particularly 3rd gear)
going in for my 3k service early because i even got my low oil light on....so well see what the tech says about the problems

Re: Cold weather problems...anyone experiencing this??
It's not that cold here on the west coast, currently upper 50s in the mornings.
One time as I was leaving the house and the engine was cold, I revved 2nd gear to about 6000 and then the engine suddenly cut back to about 4500 as if it hit the rev limiter.
I thought that was pretty strange but apparently the tach was wrong about the RPMs. I haven't noticed this problem after the engine has warmed up.
But I feel bad to hear about the problems you are experiencing with your car. No one should have to deal with those kinds of issues with a brand new car that is so sweet in all other ways.
How has your Audi service experience been since these problems started happening? Are they helpful and treat you with the respect that you deserve for buying such an expensive (sweet) car?

Re: Why are you reving the engine to 6k when is cold?
who said i was revving it that high?...i didnt...i barely rev till 4k until the car warms up
seems as though the only real problem (that isnt solved when the car warms up) is the buzzing from the steering....will find out what that is
thanks for the replys

Re: Why are you reving the engine to 6k when is cold?
It was me who revved to 6 when the engine was cold. Yeah ok so I just wanted to see engine cold performance. I was like let me just step on the throttle just a little bit, I won't go all the way, I promise. "Let's just see what it feels like."
