Default Couldn't resist....

Well, I passed the 600 mile mark yesterday, so I'm good for another 1000 rpms, but still no full throttle. Anyway, I was at a light with this guy in a modded RX-8 who definitely wanted to play and I just couldn't resist. Full throttle launch and a 7400rpm shift from 1st to 2nd. The guy was burnt toast in a matter of seconds. What a rush!!!!! You gotta be kidding me if you guys NEVER went to full throttle even once before 1200 miles. You have a lot more will power than I do.

Default I did that yesterday on a SL600

except, he was behind me. As he tried to catch me, his car slid around a bit (ooops). Anyway, when I slowed down to the speed limit, he passed me doing 80 in a 45 (at least that's my estimate), LOL. About 5 minutes prior, I took him on a down hill twisty and left him 20 car lengths behind. I let him catch-up at the light. . . he was on his cell phone too!!!

Default Straight line racing.

Based upon prior posts on this forum, RS4's were not about straight line racing. Apparently this form of racing was beneath the owners of these vehicles, that distinguish themselves from the rest, by drinking cognac and smoking Cuban cigars.

Default I read it again. What does "I did that yesterday" refer to?

Wasn't it in reference to the first post, about a race with an RX8.

Default Ok, I see your point.

I like to move from the light quickly (most of the time). However, I never "race" cars. On the twisty, the SL simply couldn't keep up on a stretch that I enjoy moving at a good clip. At the light, I simply launched it quickly (like I normally do), slowed down to the speed limit and let others passs me (including the SL). I should have clarified in my orig. post.

Default I always like...

how when you beat their *** and then slow down after awhile, the tools then come blowing by you. If that isn't the most pathetic thing. Happened to me again today on the freeway(280 near Cupertino). I mention that because I know you're in the area. Anyway, this time it was a Mini Cooper???!!! God, the stupidity out there!

Default Of course this car is about speed!.....

Who are you kidding. It is not ONLY about speed, and that is where all the issues come up.
