Default CPO'd car in CT w/ odd predelivery items...

Replaced spark plugs and intake manifold before original sale. What gives? This is the 2nd time it has been listed for sale as CPO. Worth pursuing or pass? 19K+ miles since July '06.<ul><li><a href="http://www.carfax.com/cfm/ccc_DisplayHistoryRpt.cfm?partner=ADI_0&amp;vin=WU ARU78E57N900235">carfax</a></li></ul>

Default My guess would be...

that the dealer was getting a code on the car new, and to try to fix they first put in a set of plugs, because the code said misfire. Then they probably saw that didn't work and figured out the flaps in the manifold were sticking and replaced it. This has happened to a few people here and there, and there is a bulletin on it. I would say if the car is running good and the price is right, get the car. The more important thing is what is the state of the DRC? I would check that, make sure it isn't leaking. If it is, make them replace with the new updated struts and valves from Audi. Other than that these cars are pretty damn solid. In fact I would bet that the DRC is far and away the most problematic issue with the car, and the sticking intake valves would be a very distant second.

Maybe though you can use it as leverage in price? Worth a shot.

Default All RS4's have new sparkplugs put in at pre-delivery inspection

It's standard operating procedure due to the possiblity of fouled plugs (FSI can do that)

The intake manifold replacement is common too. There are intake motors that failed on most RS4's.

Default If its Dark Blue then its probably had engine replacement

New Country got ahold of one last year around that mileage and refused to sell it to customers, prob wholesaled it.

Default it may have taken a while to CPO( 2/2009)... "The virginity of that engine has been soiled."
