Default Crack! Goes the windshield

I just noticed that a pebble caused a crack in my windshield on a drive back from Canada two weeks ago.

Does anyone have any recommendations on ways to prevent the crack from spreading? I'll be in north Jersey this afternoon (live in NYC) if there's anywhere I should stop by.

As an aside, my S4 windshield went through hell and back. I have less than 4k miles on my RS4. Ugh.

Thanks

Default Check with your insurance.....

it varies from state to state, but in FL you get FREE windshield replacements through insurance from the state law here. No deductible even if you have one. I had a small chip in the windshield and the insurance company sent out a mobile unit to my house & in 30 min I had a new one put in. Couldn't tell a difference at all

Default Check your insurance - they have recommended places that can fill the cracks

if you choose not to replace it.

Default the problem is, by the time most people notice a crack, it's too late to stop it from spreading.

some car washes have a guy who hangs out and does windshield repair...or ask your dealership.

FWIW, I had mine replaced at the dealership and it was very reasonable...less expensive than my F150 windshield, even with installation.

Default

I'd replace it, personally. Never been a big fan of filling something that's a safety item.
