Curb rash is killing me/ largest tire size
I have had to have rims worked twice now due to curb rash. Yea, I scraped one, but now all 4 are chewed up. Also I totally dislike the tires it came with (no more run flats!). Their done so when I get rims redone I will replace tires. Any suggestions on tire size that will help reduce rash ie go w/a 275/30 19, or may be a higher side wall. What tires will fit, not compromise handling dry/wet, and last. I don't track the car, made for the street. See people like the Michelin PS2's.

275/30 seem the popular choice. Beware 265/35, they apparently will not clear the front suspension somewhere, too tall.
PS2s are good but expensive, Bridgestone RE11s have great grip but a PITA to get on, Goodyear F1 asymetric get a good report and are on offer many places, may be getting these myself.

Actually since we do not have a spare a set of run flats would not be a bad idea. Needless to say people hate them in the BMW forums. I did not have enough time to form an opinion on my 335xi.

Sure. But, does anyone make a run flat in the RS4's correct size and load rating?

run flats
My RS4 came w/run flats, I hate them, & thought they all came that way. I will buy a spare & keep it in the trunk (use tire rack case). i will look innto 275 30 19's.

What brand/type were the tires? Was your car pre-owned before you got it? I don't believe the factory ever installed runflat tires on the RS4.

I use michelin ps2 in 275/35 19 size. You have to take a powertool to one of your suspension parts. Not a biggie and only about 3-4 mm of material to be removed .If you fit spacers you might not need to do that .
