second time the yellow engine light has come on due to this problem. They are checking the plugs and wires by swapping them to see if it occurs again. :-(

Default Sorry to hear, Evil...

They should really try and nail this down instead of switching around plugs and wires, IMO.

Sounds like they're going about it the worst(but not uncommon) way, the process of elimination. That sounds okay if they are trying to isolate a bad plug or wire. But, heck, why not replace the plug and wire(w/coilpack) on the cyl that's misfiring. And then go from there. Audi cheapskates!

Tell them to get it together over there : )

Is this your intermittent 'sudden power loss' during acceleration problem? or did that go away

Default It's not my approach...

I'm saying that instead of switching parts around to another cylinder, which is simply a low tech process of elimination, that they should replace the plug and wire/coilpack at the bad cylinder...as long as they are suspecting those. Then take it from there.

Who knows what other diagnosis thay may have done to narrow it down to a plug and wire thing.

I know of a few...don't know if they treat symptoms or solve the problem. I'll know more tomorrow.
