Well, after over-analyzing this decision for months I finally put a deposit down and ordered a Daytona Gray RS4, premium, black interior with brushed aluminum trim.
I struggled with the decision to buy an M5, Maserati Gransport, wait for the new M3, or RS4. After driving my friend's RS4, I was sold.
I am the previous owner of a E46 M3 cab and currently drive a C55. The C55 is great but just not very involving to drive and I wanted to return to a manual transmission.
Thanks to all here. I have lurked for weeks and weeks trying to get as much info as I could.

You won't be disappointed.

I had a E46 M3 Hardtop cab which I loved except for all the groans/noises. I had a AMG C43 before that but drove a C55 for 2 days and while a nice car just to bland. Also had a Volvo S-60R that I modded that was interesting but the dealers are a nightmare and mods are at your own risk.

I got my RS4 last Friday and I just love it. This is the first car I have ever owned that a mod will be a trunk mat!

I got the same color but with Piano Black as I have had CF and brushed in my last 4 cars and wanted something different.

I had the same groans/noises. It drove me INSANE. It's one of the reasons I ditched the car. That, and I needed 4 doors. That will be the last convertible I ever buy.

I have the exact same color/interior combo.. and very happy with it.

I know the waiting will be painful [mine was ~4 months and I didn't want to think too much about it - well - I tried at least].

You will love it - there is no other option ;-)

Congrats buddy. The wait is going to kill you. I have been waiting for 3 months on my Ibis White, I got another month or so to go. Getting harder and harder to wait...

I started looking two months ago after a short demo ride. The problem was I missed the time line to order one. The car is a present for my wife. Just got the car delivered Sunday from a dealer out of state, & now have to store it till mid March. Got Mugello Blue, Black interior, Premium package, CF, and Rear air bags. I can touch it, but not drive it. This reminds me of getting ready to pop the questions twenty years ago. Any thoughts on a radar detector. This car needs one!

I looked at the Gransport as well - Very disapointed. I drove the QP, that was great!
