Default Did the euro-light install - one question

One thing that I had been wanting to do since picking up the car was install the euro rear brake lights. I liked the euro ones which still look red, but blink yellow. I appreciated whoever it was that recommended vagparts.com. The lights were cheaper than I thought they were going to be, got here quicker than I thought, and almost were plug and play, except for the removal of a small piece of plastic on the plug, which was the only difference between the U.S. and euro versions.

Which brings me to my question. Many cars have yellow rear blinker, so I doubt it s a Department of Transportation thing. Why would Audi have different lights between the Euro and U.S. lights?

Default Heya firewired,

Glad you got them!

Well - I believe Audi had orange blinkers until 2001 or so on most of the models - and then they switched to red..

Why? I can only guess because they try _hard_ [?] to blend-in with the market preferences..

It's quite known that here in North America most of the people are used/prefer red on blinkers and they probably did a market research on it to justify the move.

Again - just an uneducated guess! *smile
