Doesn't look like it but I don't think I've seen anyone else's drc struts rusting like that.

I don't see a leak. I agree, that is a lot of rust.

Other symptoms are clunking and knocking, particularly when differentially loading one wheel (obliquely crossing over a speed bump, dropping one wheel in a slightly depressed manhole cover, etc.)

Bobbing, swaying, high speed instability.

If you have none of these, I think you are okay.

I agree, looks like no leaking...
but looking at the rust, that's the first thing I noticed...
maybe all the water washed it off?

was that car submerged or something?

everything is rusted...
the alloy is corroded...
even the body looks like it's corroding, and Audi, imo, is the best in the business for rust prevention...

the ring on your wheel was probably rust being slung off the rotor
even the CV joint is rusted...

Yeah, I thought that looked like good old northern climate road salt corrosion. Call me a wuss if you want, but my Audi sits in a clean dry garage all winter because of that.

Wow, talk about rust! Otherwise looks dry (unless it's all leaked out and salt has dried the outside shell - but you would prolly notice that when driving!)

I'm driving a 2007 RS$ that saw the tail end of winter '07, all of '08 and '09 in Ontario, and it does not have any rust like your shocks. Your body looks fine it's just the chip protection compound.
Maybe your DRC should have leaked like the rest of ours, then the oil would have prevented the rust !!!!
I just changed my winters to summers today. Front left shock is crusty oily. Others are bone dry.

If you are in London, we get 2x the snow and salt that you do. That probably explains it. Had it check out recently and no DRC issues for me (almost 30K now). Summers are back on and still lovin' every minute of it!
