Default Re: downpipe question / warranty

downpipes are a complete and total waste of time and money on this car. They add no horsepower whatsoever and can potentially trigger a check engine light due to altered oxygen sensor readings. Spend your $2000 elsewhere.

Default geez. Totally not true.

Downpipes are way worth it. The car sounds so good with a set of DP's and Cats. Best investment ever.

Who cares if you think it doesn't add more horsepower. I bet it does, but I have never dyno'd it and I am not going to.

I love them and I have had no issues in 2 years.

Sorry to go against your message. Ask others on this forum. The car should come stock with these. It makes the car sound so mean. I will post a video next week when I get it converted. Though the video does not do the sound justice as if you were hearing in person.

Default sound is totally a matter of opinion......

I have heard the non-res +DP and for me, it is WAY too loud. I have the valved/resonated Milltek cat-back and I really wouldn't want it any louder at all, but again, that's just an opinion.

It is a fact, however, that they don't add a single hp and I just can't see spending that kind of money for no power gain at all and only a minimal change in sound beyond the cat-back alone.

If you enjoy your downpipes, however, and feel it was worth the money, I won't argue with that.

Default "...can potentially trigger a CEL..."...due to 200cell cats, yes, it's possible

..(the cats actually being too efficient). We have a B6 S4 client with this situation unfortunately.

Full exhaust on an RS4 sounds mean IMHO.

Vijay, do you have a pre and post dyno sheet(or link) from the same RS4 on the same dyno, showing no gains from DPs/cats? Link please, thx.
