Default DRC warranty HELP!!!!!

Dealer says AoA will not replace my blown front shocks since my car has 15K miles, but I am aware many of you have had them replaced well after 15K and some 3 and 4 times. How come AoA can do something at one location and something else at another one? Furthermore, they wont even give me a repair estimate unless I pay for it!!
Please let me know how have you handled this with your delaer and/or with AoA so I can resolve and get my car repaired. What a way to have a faithful Audi customer pretty angry. Even more when we pay 40% more for these kind of models in PR.

thanks in advance,

Is there a different warranty for the DRC other than the 4yr./50k mi.? Just got mine out of the shop today. They had to order all four new "updated" shocks. I was told that mine is under warranty. I was also told that there is a new TSB for the DRC and more than likely a recall coming.

Default DRC warranty HELP!!

What's your mileage? they are saying it IS a wear and tear item and thus only covered for defects for the first 12 months and 12K miles. Plain absurd. I want to make sure that there is a common policy on this matter. AoA cannot be selective with customers and, from what has been documented here extensively, many have had theirs replaced well over 12mo. and 12K miles.

Default Drc

Talk to AofA directly - F' the dealer. The responses from the dealer seem to be sporadic. The warranty makes no specific mention of the DRC only being supported through 12mo/12K.

All four of mine were just replaced at 20K, but you can't go by mine - initial problem was before 12K.

Good luck...

Default Thanks, I've called AoA already

Since there is no "warranty over warranty", the fact that yours were replaced is enough to confirm the 12mo/12K issue is not true. I am awaiting their reply (maybe tomorrow) but the fact is that there is only 1 audi dealer on-island, so I have no choice. If AoA pays, I don't believe they have and issue, but an approach to a particular part on a vehicle must be the same for all customers, regardless of location.

I spoke with AofA directly and was told the DRC was covered under the 4 year 50K warranty. If you hear anything else from your dealer, get on the phone with AofA.

I would call AofA anyway as there is an advantage to early notification of vehicle nonconformity should you decide to explore that option.

Default THANKS! - that is very good news

the more people I can find that have been told warranty on DRC is 4y/50m, the better of I am. I may need to e-mail you at a certain point in time.

For obvious reasons, Audi is highly motivated to make your car right as the buyback process is very costly for them. At one time, I believe AofA was attempting to treat the DRC as a wear and tear item, but that is not currently the case.

Staying in constant dialogue with AofA has the advantage that if you have multiple non durable repairs, Audi of America has regional technical specialists that can be brought in to evaluate and repair your vehicle. It is my understanding that the DRC system is complex to repair effectively and many field service agents, even if skilled, are not experienced in the RS4 DRC system. My RS4 was repaired multiple times by a senior technician, who also serviced Porsche, and he was unable to make my car right. Although I no longer own that vehicle, it is my understanding that a regional specialist was brought in to effect a durable repair on the car.

feel free to contact me. AofA wants to make this right, not just for you, but also as it makes sense for them.

since I just picked my car (not new) how can I verify things are ok with my DRC? I had the Audi dealer I purchase the car from print a service list for the car and nothing shows up as being serviced in regards to DRC.

Car has a hair over 15k miles.

cheers

Nick
