Drove a B7 RS4 this weekend...
Well, I got a chance to drive on in the SOT event this weekend. The track was not very long (think autox) and I only got a couple of laps.
The sound is great both inside and out. The shifts are effortless and smooth (although a bit long for my tastes. The clutch was extremely light, understand that I have a AWE Stage 2 w/lw fw. Acceleration was smooth and fast. Best I can compare it to is my car on race gas with APR race program running in 50 degree weather +20 lb torque. Turn in was the most impressive.
The first time around I underestimated the power and went into the corners too hot and plowed a tiny bit but once I figure out the power, the car handle fantastic. The closest I can compare the turn in to is an S2000. The 40/60 split was noticable as you could rotate the car much better than I can my car.
It was a great car for someone who doesn't have a B5 S4 Stg2/3. The interior is very nice and modern. I would think about making a purchase on one used but at the price point it is new, I will be keeping my B5. I think a Stage 3 S4 well done with Stasis all around and B7 navi is a better performing car overall but I know I am biased.

I am cray enough to go from a Stage 3 S4 to an RS4 (sans turbos)...
So we'll see how that turns out. Seems most guys are moving up from B6/B7 S4's, and of course the RS4 is a direct improvement over those cars in almost all areas. For me, it's going to be a wholly different experience going from a biturbo torque monster to a NA high revver. I am looking forward to it. The B7RS4 should handle far better than my B5 (aftermarket suspension can only do so much). I'd be lying if I didn't say I am a little nervous, but all the reviews so far are glowing. I don't think I will regret it... and besides, there's always the K24's in the 911 to feed my turbo frenzy

It's me. I would miss the turbo, because I can own only one car here.
we must pay about $200K to get a small 10 feet by 20 feet ground to park a car here.
and no ground are left around my home...
