Default DVD is not read by the Navi drive. Should I do something before that?

Hi, guys.

This message is a copy of similar message on the navplus.us. Decided to post here as well...

At a dealer we tried to insert A6 Navi DVD to my RS4/B7, but it would not read. So we decided to order a new one. Today I got the new DVD and inserted to that Navi drive under the display panel.
However, the result is the same. It can't read the disc...

I wonder if there's something wrong with the DVD drive or I just have to press some button or enter some code to enable the feature...

Thank you all in advance!

Default A6 is MMI, isn't it? You need RNS-E disc

Seems 2008 discs aren't common. My 2008 came with a 2007 disc.

I got whatever dealer has ordered for me. It says 2006 on the DVD itself...

Default Here's a link to what I think the current disc is

It's from navplus.us, a good site for RNS-E info.

I think the Audi part number is: 8P0 919 884 Q<ul><li><a href="http://www.navplus.us/forums/showthread.php?t=2">Map DVD info</a></li></ul>

Default Your dealer is an IDIOT! The DVD from an A6 will NOT work in an RS4 (more)

The A6 (like ther A8 and Q7) have the MMI system fitted, but the RS4 (like the A3, TT Mk2 and R8) have the RNS-E fitted.

And they do NOT use the same map DVD.

The dealer should know that - I would not give any more trade to that dealer, they are obviously incompetent!

Soon I'll be able to stuff the whole shelf with those DVDs.

No business for him. Period. I'm thinking to do my service at Audi Exchange. Yet to see their level.
