ECU tuning
Hey,
There are several options now for tuning the ECU. I am interested in what route you guys here have chosen and what your experience and recommendations are.
Appreciate all input!

Singh tuned the beast
I don't want to put this guy on a pedestal, but this guy definitely knows what he is doing. I am very satisfied with the results of the flash. Though the car was already aggressive, he put the car to new limits. Mostly, it was not about how much power I could get out of the car, but how smooth I could get it. Singh not only gave me an incredible amount of power (26hp, 26lb/torque), but he also removed all the flat spots. I have been hearing that many people have had a difficult time making smooth 1st to 2nd shifts and this guy can really help you out. Though he may not make it as smooth as you would like it to be, he definitely did his part to make it easier.

What flat spots? The one over 7800 or the one under 1500?
Seriously, a before and after dyno plot is the only way to substantiate the improvements from a re-map. A real-time wide band o2 sensor reading should be plotted along with it.

Supposedly Powerchip has one for $1690 good for 430HP
I'm sure as hell NOT going to be the guinea pig.<ul><li><a href="http://www.powerchipgroup.com/interact/datasheets/datasheets_two.asp?pid=Aud0159">Powerchip for RS4</a></li></ul>

DYNO, DYNO, DYNO, DYNO, DYNO
I'm sick and tired of hearing about chips without dyno plots.
As for the 1-2 shifts, smoothness is about technique. I hear this complaint all the time, don't have such a problem in my car.
As for flat spots, that part is worth exploring...my car had a flat spot/surge at about 2500 rpms and my ECU flash cured it, but my butt dyno in no way substantiates claims made by the manufacturer.
I WOULD however trust a shop like Stasis, so you might want to get their recommendations.
Again, without a dyno plot, claims of power increases make the claimer look uninformed.
