Electronic Limiter
Howdy all, So I was looking into the speed of the rs4 and I understand it to be electronically limited to 155 MPH. A few questions for you guys, and I'm sure you can guess them. Whats the top speed that isn't limited at 155? Is it hard to remove the limiter? Is it illegal to remove the limiter? I know I'm rarely ever going to be going above 155, but its nice to have the option if you need it... Thanks for the help!

~180 mph, give or take, given long enough road
no, it's easy, a simple ecu software upgrade (may cause warranty contention)
probably not illegal as long as it doesn't affect the emissions control software

It isn't limited at all, and the top speed is 186 mph.

what do you mean the car is not speed limited from the factory?
it has a speed limiter ~155-160 mi/hr
top speed depends on many things:
tire pressure
atm conditions
road surface
maintenance of the engine
fuel
etc.
~ means approximately...186 is within 4% of 180...I'ld be surprised if the car could exceed 180 for any period of time...
at HP peak of 7800 rpm and with 3% tire slip = 183 mi/hr...
