Engine temps on RS4, feedback needed

Engine temps on RS4, feedback needed
We are getting about 107-111 celcius during our street and dyno pulls on V10 S6. Funny thing is the in car gauge reads dead nuts center, doesn't budge, when in reality temps are up and down.
Curious what does RS4 run?. Posted question on S6 board, but nobody is really interested in performance who owns an S6, other than me at least, so no responses yet...
Also, ecu is pulling timing when it runs hot, so we rarely get the full HP. So 1 pull, you get rated HP, then it's downhill from there....Any thoughts on mods to keep engine temps down?

see my reply to your thread below...RS4 numbers should go UP on successive runs, not down.
all things equal, i don't think the ecu is going to pull timing at those temps...that's really not that hot. my ecu pulls timing, but it doesn't seem to be heat related. it seems to pull less timing on successive runs, but not consistently. i think it's a fuel quality issue...the RS4 seems to be very sensitive in that regard.
FWIW, 107-111C isn't that hot. that's only 225-230F, which is pretty close to normal operating temp for me in the summer here (when driving moderately aggressive).

Well, everything is relative. I consider 225 HOT
I see 210 as hot, rarely (maybe twice?) did I see 225. If I saw 225, I wouldn't even attempt a drag run or a dyno run. When I used to drag race, 180 was the temp limit. Above that, it was impossible to break any personal best times.

I agree that it means nothing to performance on the street
But at the strip where you're trying to beat your previous best by 0.001 seconds or on a dyno where every single pony counts, you have to nickel and dime your way up the horsepower ladder.
Scott will tell you to put that superbio Wesson cooking oil in your motor to control the temps

I was just thinking about you this morning....
....ambient temp is ~82F, drove a leisurely 20 miles to the office (light traffic), about 70mph average speed, pulled into the parking lot and the oil temp was 212. So later today, when it's +10-15F ambient, oil temp should be around 220-225 under the same conditions.
I actually tried Scott's Wesson oil, but the neighbors complained about the french fry smell ;-)
