Default EPC light on again for the third time last night :-(............

This is becoming a never ending issue. First I had the misfires that took them months to figure out and now I have the intermittent EPC and yellow engine light. They have pulled the manifold twice and it has yet to resolve the issue.

I have tried to remain very calm and understanding but I don't see a light at the end of this tunnel. I am coming to a point where I will have to decide what will replace this car. You see I didn't order a lemon but I seem to have received one.

So should I order a RS4 cab (for the sound quality)? That is what I had originally wanted back when they were telling us we would never sell them in the states. Wait for the RS5? Or move up to an R8? My main concern would be the small chance of getting stuck with another lemon. Am I the only one whose car loves to stay at the dealership?

What's the lemon law in your state?

Default I wouldn't hesitate to get another 4.2 FSI car

Just think about how many are out there and not having problems, the chances of getting another lemon is very small.

Default It just sucks to be the one with the problems - I hope they get it worked out.

I had a 00 S4 for 6.5 years and 143K miles with no problems and I'm hoping the RS4 gives me just as many miles if not more.... trouble free....

Default If it gives you the opportunity...

use it as leverage ot get an R8. That would be worth it, and I would 2nd the idea that you are just having bad luck. I'd love to get my hands on an R8, but it just isn't going to happen without paying 2x MSRP.

I do feel your pain. I have traded 2 cars in the past year for intermittent CEL's that drove me nuts. But I just brought home a winner, and it makes it all worth it! (Exige S...)

Default Here's what I would do......

EPC for the third time....you have the lemon law with you now. Since you love the car itself, I would return it for another RS4. Every car is going to have lemons -even Toyota and Honda will have 'em. There are people here who have put over 20,000 miles on their RS4 in one year without a single glitch. Overall this still seems to be a pretty reliable car.
