Is the Euro steering wheel still functional?

Is the Euro steering wheel still functional?
If you install the Euro steering wheel, do you still have the same mode/channel and volume controls available on the wheel?

The buttons on the Euro steering wheel are ...
... replacements for the trip computer buttons on the wiper stalk and the Sport button on the dash.
Euro RS4's don't have the buttons on the wiper stalk, or the dash mounted Sport button - and we prefer it that way!

Yeah but the media controls on the wheel are great.....
I find myself using them ALL the time. I love the European wheel like everyone else in the US, but I won't sacrifice the media controls on the wheel.
