Default Everyone knows these wheels are PITA to clean, so I tried something new...

I got one of these California duster things, specifically the one that is intended to be used for dusting the dashboard. It's small enough and has a pointed end, so you can get in the wheel crevices easily. Obviously I wouldn't recommend this for really dirty wheels, but rather as a quick daily wipe down to keep the wheels somewhat clean. I've found that if you dust them daily with this thing (after thoroughly washing the car), they require a lot less effort to clean at the next washing. After a few days, the duster gets black, but it still works well. They're about $8 at Pep Boys:

It's a good idea. I have a dead-black duster from doing that. Only way to go when it's not raining

Default i personally like the OXO brushes the best...

I have four of them I use on the wheels. They are very soft so they won't scratch.

Default You summed it up well - these wheels are a PITA to clean and keep clean

The pads dust so badly that I can't even use my old tried-and-true in-between washes method of using detail spray and a cloth. It just smears the brake dust around and into the many right-angle corners of these wheels. I mean, the wheels are great to look at, but I won't miss cleaning them when my winter wheels are on.

When washing, I use these Griot's brushes, do the wheels last, and use the same carwash soap in a bucket of water that is used on other painted surfaces. ANd don't forget to clean the calipers!

http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog.jsp?&SKU=15220</a

OXO is a company that makes brushes. 'brused' is a way to misspell 'brush'.
