evo m3 RS4 comparo scans
As noted in scotts post yesterday they have a slight edge to the m3, but if you read the rest of the review its clear these two cars are so close in terms of performance that the days of BMW dominance seem to have come to an end.
It will clearly come down to a matter of preference and in anyone but the best of drivers the rs4 will outperform, not to mention any imperfect surfaces.

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74094</a

It appears that you're fixated on the M3
J/k, Ben. Do you think that the marginal improvements in technology and performance are narrowing substantially. That is, if you look out 5 - 10 years, will the current RS4 and soon to be new M3 still perform very well to these "future sedans?"

interesting question, perhaps were approaching some limit of quality and relavence
Btw I just count myself fortunate to own a car that I think will be remarked in history as very relevant, and yes its a bit of scheudenfreude going on, after hearing for the last year how the new m3 will blow the doors off the RS4, its a bit satisfying.

Audi Domination
It seems like all Audis are only getting better exponentially, whereas other brands are levelling off or going backwards.
I think that the RS4 is already better than the M3 just based off the design and quality. The RS4 also seems like it is superior because of its quattro.
Remember that Lamborghini's are some of the best sports cars in the world and they are all wheel drive too. Audi seems to be transferring other technology from Lamborghini slowly. Which I think is cool.

a) audi's just catching up b) lambos are often made fun of
I think other companies have been hitting a high bar and audi's always been coming up short. Now Audi is finally matching the competition.
Secondly, Gallardos are often made fun of in exotic circles because they aren't really that fast for 500hp and they just aren't as sharp on the track as some of its competition.
That said I'm glad Audi's stepped it up because I've always liked Audi's just their performance wasn't always up to par. And I also think the gallardo is a cool *** car no matter what anyone else says.

If the RS6 does a 09-10 production, the next RS won't be until 2011 though.
Then its debatable if its going to be a RS4 or RS5. Another question is... I have a feeling this RS6 might be a hit, so will it mean the expansion of quattro gmbh? It would be nice if they expanded to the point where they could make two limited production RS cars at once, but not to the point were they are making high volume RS cars like M does.
