Default Faint hiss from speakers....

Even with my car completely off, there appears to be this extremely faint hiss coming from the door speakers, front and rear, as if something is continuously "on". You have to put your ear close to speaker to really hear it, but it is there. It actually creates a very eerie "silence" inside the cabin of the car if you just sit in there with all the doors shut.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is it normal or do I have some kind of little electrical glitch? Is it just the sound of the NAV disc spinning in the head unit???

I have it also. It'll turn off in 30 minutes and it will not kill your battery. My rs4 has sat in the garage for 6 weeks and it started right up.

It is the amplifier that is still on.

Default I've noticed this sound

when wiping down the doors - sills after washing. A faint hiss. Haven't heard it inside the car with the doors shut though.

Default mine does that too.

It's not the quietest amp when reproducing quiet music passages either. The hiss is there, reminds me of a poor quality cassette deck only not as bad. Overall though, the factory sound system is very good (for a car).

Default Explanation...

At the moment you unlock your doors the system goes into a stand-by mode. Essentially the system is readying itself for your use. In the 10-15 seconds it takes for you to get in and twist the key, the system's goal is to have the DVD spinning and accessible, start downloading phonebook and call data from your phone, and load Mp3 info from your SD cards.

What do those tasks have to do with pink noise generated by a (cheap) amp/preamp?
