Default Filler plate woes...thoughts anyone...

So I rock up to the dealer today to pick up my black/brushed alum. filler part, only to find they are trying to give me the std S4 one (grey/chrome). Tell them no, I want the "E 3FZ" black/brushed alum. part (thanks again to sparkhill, I'm all over this!). First they say not a valid part # and can't be obtained in the U.S., but after insisting it can, they re-check and say "oh, you're right!".

O.K. we're making progress, except now they say there isn't one anywhere in the U.S. and although it's on order it could take 4 weeks, 6, more, who knows.

Anyone else having any luck w/this?

Part number not valid, huh? It shouldn't be this difficult.

Default Ordered the same one today and it is backordered...

Just think of how happy you'll be when it finally arrives. Personally I think for a $70K something car they could have included both fillers, the original one from the factory and the one with the license plate.

Default Eventually they'll drop this frickin setup and get a normal grill again(hope)...

the grill will NEVER look right or integrated with these license plate or not, multi style filler sections marring the grill and entire front of the car, IMO. What a bunch of PIA crap from Audi in this design. The shield grill WILL work AND look good if they tuck it back into the body and lobby every state to drop the need for a front plate, lol.

Default difficult? just ask for one(PN in msg)... email'd my salesperson on Wed and it Arrvd Fri

and I even got Postcard Notification it had arrived in the mail today and told to drop by when I have a moment so they can put it on...

cant see how a lil old piece of plastic could cause so many problems...

SORRY couldn't help myself...really it was that easy but then again, all I have is this little green card.. at least the PN seems ok and may be what you need to use when ordering..

I'll post some pics Monday when I get it put on and it's washed..

till then here is what it should look like...
